SCOUTING REPORT
Background: Unlike many of the Giants Rob started his career playing in the P.Y.A.A.
(Patchogue Youth Athletic Association) because of lack of competition in Mastic Sports and Y.u.m.a (ex: Smith, Matt, Antinucci, Dom) just look at the stats. At the age of 12 Young Robert looking for better competition joined NPMYAC (North Patchogue-Medford
Youth Athletic Club) where at the age of 12 he played on the Little League World Series Tournament team where his team went
undefeated and mercied 2 of the first 3 teams and all of the stars were aligning for a dream matchup where young Robert
would get to face Paul and the Mastic Sports Tournament team in the 4th rd however this dream matchup
was crushed when the Mastic Masterbaiters team was eliminated in the 3rd round. In 7th grade Rob was cut from coach
Ashton's 7&8th grade team to pave the way for Jamie Mendez's pro career. In 8th grade Rob made Coach Longo's
team who went (7-2-1) while Mendez and Ashton won 2 games all season. Needless to say in 9th grade when the two teams
would merge Mendez's pro dreams where crushed when he lost the starting 2nd base job to Young Robert. In 11th Grade Rob had
1 Homer, 2 triples, 2 singles, a double, and an intentional walk in 3 games before he was moved to varsity as a Pitcher where
he would never again gain another at bat untill he found Coach Oconnell shooting up heroin in the teachers lounge during lunch
break. Needless to say the very next game Young Robert got an at bat. Young Robert then went on to an illustrious
career as a pitcher at Suffolk Community College where he finished his career 9-0 with about a 3.00 era.
Strengths: Rob's Strength has always been his arm. Untill his arm injury
(torn labrum) this kid was one of the best Pitchers in Stan Musial. On a team that won 12 games Rob went 8-1 with a 2.65
era in 2000 where he earned his first Allstar appearance at Shea. Last year he showed he was an offensive threat earning
another Shea appearance this time with the bat hitting .418 and setting almost every L.I. Giants offensive record (see Giants Records & History.)
Weakness: His Labrum!!! Rob also has a tendancy of throwing complete games in
some innings as his pitch count can sometimes be astronomical. Rob's biggest weakness however is his EGO, he believes
he can strike out any batter with his fastball, he can steal anybase at anytime, or make anythrow from any position on
the field. He once made a $100 bet in a 3 on 3 basketball game his team would have to beat the other team of equal
talent 10 times in a row in order to win.
